Mischa Partridge

Mischa Partridge

Coach

My journey in cycling started at 11 years old when I competed in my first BMX race. Little did I know that first race would turn into a professional career for seven years. From there I transitioned into another sprint discipline of track cycling in which I competed for the national team for one season. At the end of the 2015 season, I retired from competitive cycling to shift my focus back on my education in the field of athletic therapy.

My coaching career began while I was still in high school, gradually helping out at local BMX camps. This exposed me to other coaching opportunities both in the public school system and with the BMX Provincial development team. During this time, I attended two BC Summer Games, the first as a zone rep for Vancouver Island, and the second as head coach for BMX. While still competing full time I was able to complete my NCCP – ‘Competition Introduction’ coaching certification. In 2010, I took over as head coach of the Cycling BC BMX development program.

Other experience includes iRide instructor, teaching bicycle skills and safety in elementary schools, private lessons for BMX, and administering max power testing on behalf of Cycling Canada for the RBC Training Ground program.

Outside of my NCCP certification, I have schooling in the field of Physical Education and Coaching from Douglas College. I intend to continue my coaching career and am currently looking at avenues to expand into track and mountain bike.
